How To Plan For Your Next Trade Show
Once your company begins to gain exposure this will surely be a first for people to see your brand, products, logo, customer service and exhibition stand. Planning for a normal sized industry event or a trade show is an undertaking that should begin at least four months ahead of time. Ensure no confusion by calling for pre registration lists and logistical information early on, be ready before the event coordinators are.
A written plan for any exhibition should include, but not be limited to:
1. Clearly outlined goals and objectives. Focus your modular exhibition stand design around a central idea such as the event itself or something recently developed by your business.
2. Time scales. As the golden rule of timing suggests, you should always budget 15% more time than you think you may need. Coordinating your actions with those of other businesses and an event will lead to inevitable delays, no matter how well you perform.
3. Keeping Within Your Budget To really budget well, follow the cardinal rule of spending 10 percent less than you think you will but budget 10 percent more.
4. The space needed. It is highly important to make sure that you take up every inch that you are allowed to, and that your exhibition stand can fit through the door.
5. Stand and graphic design parameters - These are needed for similar reasons as the space requirements.
6. Onsite services - The event already provides some necessities; only bring what you need for your customers and save money.
7. Do not spend money on transportation and logistics that are covered by the event. These are essential to know for your own requirements as well as for your customers. Be certain you put all relevant data on the microsite so customers can see it.
8. Exhibition staffing and training. Ensure that you have the proper personnel and that they are fully prepared for the event.
9. Drive the most people to pre and post show promotions by pre-planning them. Use your microsite and a well thought out plan to create interest in you before the exhibition starts.
10. It is important that you display and classify criteria for evaluation. A measure of success must be in place. Decide on the metrics before you go in and set goals for your appearance there.
11. On-stand data capture is a great way to obtain vital information. Figure out how you are going to collect people's information.
12. Follow up procedure for leads. Perhaps the most important item on the list, because if follow up is not done correctly, the exhibition will be a wasted effort.
Has anyone been to see Russell Brand on his stand up tour?
Im going next week
He`s coming to Glasgow, i was wondering if you could tell me what to expect lol Was it good?
I'm sorry but I say him host the American MTV Movie Awards and not only did I think that he was NOT funny, but I thought he was just rude. I feel for you having to spend 3 hours in the same room with that pompous personality!
Brilliant or Baffling: Dunder-Mifflin Paper (savvysugar?format=xml)
In an effort to boost paper sales, Staples will start selling Dunder Mifflin-
branded paper that's priced at $35, which is about $5 more than the regular
store-brand paper. The packages will have quirky mottos such as "Our motto is,
'Quabity First'" and "Get Your Scrant on," printed on the packages. The **Wall
Street Journal** highlights this new marketing trend:
> The Dunder Mifflin deal is an example of "reverse product placement." For
decades, marketers have worked to embed their brands in the plots of TV shows
and movies as a way to stand out in a crowded ad market. Nowadays, they are
seeing value in bringing to life fictional brands that are already part of pop
culture. That can be far cheaper than building brands from scratch.
I think what drives customers to buy isn't gimmicks but cost. At least, I know
that's the case with my purchasing patterns. What do you think - is selling
Dunder Mifflin paper a good idea?
Brilliant or Baffling: Dunder-Mifflin Paper
Brilliant - it's such a clever marketing scheme.
Baffling - it's not a good idea.
