Could A Model Be An Actor? Can An Actor Be A Singer?
Could it be realistic to dream of succeeding in multiple types of show business? Can you truly be a star, and equally gifted, on stage and on movie and on tv and on record and on the runway…as an actor along with a singer and a dancer along with a model? The solution is: Indeed! Numerous individuals are fairly talented in far more than one type of performance or other show business function. Ten individuals, in fact, have accomplished the greatest “grand slam”: earning an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. (5 are actors, three are composers, and two are directors. The most current recipient with the fourth of those four most prestigious awards was-the envelope, please-Whoopi Goldberg in 2002.)
How is this possible? Should you audition for multiple industries so as to achieve so much in a lot of associated, but distinct, disciplines? The answer: Three qualities are required, and you need to have all three, to really excel and become a star on stage, on movie on Television, and on record. They are: luck, talent, and dedication.
Luck isn't entirely out of your hold. Yes, sometimes luck seems to be merely fate or kismet. How many times have you heard somebody effective say, “I was just within the correct location at the correct time”? That, no doubt, is true. But appear at the situation more closely, and you will discover that, in most cases, that individual got to the right place at the correct time through intention. They went to that audition (and the subsequent 1 and the following one and on and on). They went to that workshop…that reading…that class…that lecture…that performance by a peer or by the actor or singer they wish they could be. Once they were there, they might have gotten observed and plucked through the crowd, might have gotten their big break, but it wasn’t all luck. Place yourself in situations where you're more likely to encounter “luck”: Take your resume and headshots and reel or demo or whatever with you wherever you go. Go to open mic nights. Consider a chance. Put yourself out there. You’ll probably have your share of failures, maybe some embarrassing, even very painful, moments. Nearly everyone does. But deal with each as being a training experience. What did you understand that can help you do even better next time you get “lucky”?
Ability will be the most essential component of victory in multiple forms of entertainment. Wish to star in the Broadway musical? You will need to be multi-talented: an actor, singer, dancer. The more abilities you got, the better you will do. Just do not spread your self too thin and become the proverbial “jack (or jill) of all trades, expert of none.” Lead with your strength, then develop from there. In the event you could only do one factor, what would it be? Act? Sing? Dance? Write? Lead? Focus on that, and get it done nicely. Master your craft and hone it. Then broaden from there. Nothing takes you further on your quest for stardom than genuine skills.
But skills by itself isn’t sufficient. Luck by itself definitely isn’t good enough. The 3rd factor of multimedia victory is dedication. Being multi-talented and pursuing stardom is hard work for most people. It calls for training on how to audition for acting, singing, modeling, and any other talent you may want to pursue. Believe of it: In all these decades, with the thousands of thousands of artists who've arrive and gone, only 10 have achieved the “grand slam” of Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony. And each had lots of luck, lots of talent…and put in hours and hours and hours of performance and dedication. But they proved that it's feasible: A model may be an actor. An actor might be a singer. A singer could be a dancer. You may be outstanding at many various types of entertainment…with luck, with expertise, and with perseverance.

Auditions For
Nook Tablet's Read and Record hands-on (video) (Engadget)
The multimedia features on the new Nook Tablet mean more than just watching
video and listening to music -- they actually give a bit of a boost to the
reading experience, as well. One of the best implementations of this is the
new Read and Record feature, an update to the Nook Color's Read and Play
feature, which takes advantage of the Tablet's new mic to let users (parents
in most cases, we assume) record narration to children's books. It's a simple
but clever addition that certainly drives home the product's value for
families.
The feature lets you record custom narration on each page of compatible texts,
offering up the words as a script. Once recorded, the text can be saved with a
simple icon, so kids can play it back themselves -- in the case of our hands-
on demo, it was a gingerbread man (fitting, perhaps, given the OS we're
working with). The feature is equally simple to use on both sides of the
equation, and is a nice little bonus for parents who, for whatever reason,
can't always be around to read to the kids. Video after the break.
