Great Digital Entertainment Experience With Great Quality Digital Audio File
As the digital audio format has been very popular among us, most of us thinking to stick it to their home theater system through USB and removable devices (such as iPod, mp3 player, etc.). You can get many songs from it and listen for a full day long with your high quality home theater system such as HT-S3300.
Few things might be needed to know if you are thinking of bringing your digital audio file into your home theater system. Most of digital audio formats such as MP3, AAC, and WMA will not sound good even though you play them using your $10,000 worth home theater system. Such a digital audio format is designed to be efficient and storage friendly through a certain compression method, which will results in a less quality audio file. Compression process disposes some bits of musical information which contain certain detail and specific sounds. You probably can’t hear clearly to that ‘detail and specific sound’ using your MP3 player or your lovely iPod, but you will notice the difference when you play it with your high quality audio system.
So, if you want to listen to your digital audio format songs through your home theater system, you better choose lossless audio formats. Pulse Code Modulation or also known as PCM will be great for your choice. If you have sharp ears and a good audio system, PCM files will sound much better than MP3 formats. Other lossless audio formats that you probably want to consider are Windows Media Lossless, Apple Lossless, or Free Lossless Audio Codec. However, those kinds of lossless audio format will take a huge size on your removable media. Well, that is the trade off. The better the quality of audio files, the more you have to sacrifice your storage media capacity.
If you still insist on your MP3 files, you can consider using MP3 files with 384 kbps bit rate. 384 kbps bit rate MP3 sounds good enough for most people. But if you still happier with lower bit rate, you can choose for 192 kbps bit rate at minimum. Also, make sure your audio system at least have a feature of Music Optimizer for Compressed Digital Music files and 192 kHz/24-bit D/A Converters. That feature will help you a lot by improving your digital audio jitter, thus make the sound quality better. Onkyo HT-S3300 is one of the best examples of receiver and speakers package which provide that feature.
