Artist Lacks Exhibit

Portrait artists have a hard time trying to capture emotions, moods, and moments. On the living room walls of a Marion home are portraits made by a self taught artist, who lives there with his wife. It took some time for him to complete a grand montage of an American tap dancer, an actor a scientist, the composite between three famous comedians, the traditional cast members of a long running science fiction TV series, a former TV reporter, various rock stars, athletes and entertainers, and his friends. He starts by taking still from videos, from which he gets some really interesting expressions. For a year and a half, he painted the faces of people who meant something to him, making the montage a sort of tribute. Thank you for reading about portrait artist websites and paintings.

The rest are filled with portraits of the lead singer of Babes in Toyland, a Russian gymnast, and a songwriter. His usual working tools are pencil, graphite, and charcoal. He wanted to do more than black and white and tried conte crayon and colored pencils next. He and his Japanese wife, a Kobe native, were the subjects of his first venture with colored pencils. Both American drawing and Japanese wood block print styles were used in the drawing. Taken at City Hall in December 1996, their close up wedding photograph serves as the basis of this drawing, which he enhances with personal and Japanese symbols.

He drew in their three cats, though they were not really present at the wedding. The artist drew one cat's face to resemble a mask from a Japanese opera believed to chase away evil spirits. Good luck comes to those in a certain position, and he draws the second cat in it.

Instead of what they actually wore at the wedding, he drew them in kimonos. He draws a kikyo, a type of flower, on his wife, because it is her matriarchal symbol. In order to draw notice to the gingko tree, he drew it past the third cat, past the vertical blinds, outside the room. The artist was reminded of the gingko, a symbol of longevity, by a tree at the University of Iowa. Thank you for reading about portrait painting prices and paintings.

The first time the couple worked together was on this 1997 drawing. His wife was in charge of idea generation and evaluation. She says this drawing might just be their favorite. He wants to tackle landscapes next, as long as they contain people.

It doesn't matter that his pieces have not been exhibited, because four have found their way into books and one on the cover. Someone on the staff referred his art to the book editor. Immediately after, the editor praised the artist's unique blend of different techniques in an email. He went from action heroes and rock stars in his childhood days to today's complex art. Today, he can render exactly what he wants. He says that it's like looking at a photograph and thinking what a fine picture it would be without those telephone wires or if this element was moved over there.

First inkjet-printed graphene computer circuit is transparent, flexible (Extremetech)

You can add another crazy characteristic to graphene's ever-expanding list of
"wonder material" properties: It can now be used to create flexible,
transparent thin-film transistors... using an inkjet printer.
