Value of vinyl records vary widely. There is no doubt an increased demand for mint condition, limited edition copies of records by popular artist. However, the odds of you having or finding one of these six figure gems are slim. If you are serious about finding something like a one of a kind or one in a hundred “lost” copies of this or that star you already know more that this article hopes to share.
If you decide to collect vinyl records remember a few basic tips. Look for record in "mint condition. It's a little like collectioning stamps or coins. Those in "mint" condition bring more. An album from a popular artist thats still in the original wrapper will be woth more.

If you are looking for something with monetary value (as opposed to looking for what you yourself like) keep an eye out for the following stars: Beattles, Rolling Stone, Lead Zepplin, Sex Pistols, David Bowie, Jimmie Hendrix, Bod Dylan, Iron Maiden, Queen, Elvis Presley, Joy Division, Genesis, Depeche Mode, and Miles Davis. Continental’s second tier of popular vinyl records include: AC-DC, The Beach Boys, The Bee Gees, Madonna, Prince, and Neil Young.
If you like goint to estate and garage sales you may find a few vinyl treasures. Look for those records with a album cover good as new. If the cover is beat up the record is probably going to be as well.
You may be lucky enough to come across a copy of The Beatles-White Album UK1968 Mono LP cover No. Wow! As your searching for records consider the hole in the middle. If its worn it indicates frequent use. Also look for scratches on the vinyl itself by holding up to the light. A badly scratches album won't play clearly.
You probably won't run across that Beatles album I mentioned above. If you do you would be $31,700 richer! None-the-less you can have a lot of fun looking for old albums in good condition.
Does a replacement record player cartridge normally come with a stylus/needle?
I'm currently shopping for a cartridge for my technics record player, and I'm leaning towards getting the grado prestige black p-mount cartridge. However, as it is shown on amazon here:

it doesn't specify if it comes with the stylus or not, does anyone know for sure?
yes, they come with a new stylus.
UNLESS they are really high end, when you could buy a cartridge and the stylus separately (the old V3's)
